Overview

ITO built Japan's first shortwave therapy unit in 1934, and the SW-1000 is its current high-power shortwave system. Operating at 27.12 MHz, it switches between continuous output (up to 400 W mean) and pulsed output (up to 1000 W peak) with three pulsed modes: 1 in 3, 2 in 3 and 3 in 3.

Pulse frequency is selectable from 5 to 800 Hz across eleven steps and pulse width from 20 to 400 µs, so clinicians can move between thermal and lower-thermal dosing. Ten pre-installed clinical programmes cover typical conditions, 16 programme numbers can be saved, and automatic tuning keeps output power precise. Settings are made on a 7-inch full-colour LCD touch screen with a timer up to 30 minutes.

The floor-standing unit measures 470 × 470 × 940 mm, weighs 38 kg and runs on AC 100–240 V.
