Kinesix VR Immersive Neurorehabilitation System

Kinesix VR, developed by a Montreal-based neurotechnology company, creates 3D simulations of real-life environments in which patients practise motor and cognitive tasks. Exercises focus on hand, finger, trunk control and balance recovery for both adults and children, and are designed with neurorehabilitation therapists.

The system has three parts: a VR headset for immersive therapy, a mobile app for building customised exercise programmes, and a web platform for real-time progress tracking and recorded data. Six progressive modules contain more than 300 functional exercises, from daily-life tasks such as cooking and using tools to the Gym 360° balance and vestibular series and child-friendly games. Mirror therapy and real-time feedback are included, and a newer Alden XR module offers immersive content for distraction during pain management.

Target groups include stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's, neuropathies and brachial plexus injury, as well as orthopaedic conditions (burns, amputations, arthritis, fractures, joint injuries) and geriatric or inactivity-related needs. The manufacturer states CE marking and Health Canada registration, with FDA (US) in process.
