Overview
The Voice Responsive Dome gives immediate visual feedback to any sound. When a user vocalises, sings, claps or taps, the dome lights up with an attractive glow of coloured LEDs, making the link between action and effect easy to see.
Speech and language therapists, teachers and carers use sound-to-light equipment to motivate early vocalisation, to reward attempts at communication and to practise turn-taking in one-to-one or group sessions. A sensitivity control lets staff set how loud a sound must be to trigger the light, so it can respond to quiet voices or ignore background noise.
The dome is 30 cm in diameter and 17 cm high and runs at low voltage (12 V DC) from a separate external mains power supply.
