Overview

The Bb+ support jacket is a wearable lumbar support built around a flexible "second backbone" (Bb+) that runs from the spine to the pelvis. ITO describes three functions: form navigation that guides the back towards a healthier position, muscle support from a belt that assists the leg muscles when bending and standing, and lumbar support from a wide belt that stabilises the lower back and abdominal pressure.

Two versions are available. Bb+PRO III weighs 600 g and comes in S–M, L–3L and 3L–5L; Bb+Air is a lighter 400 g one-size version. Materials are polyester, nylon, polyurethane, polypropylene and POM. In an internal ITO test with one adult lifting a 10 kg load repeatedly, lower-back muscle load fell by up to about 43%.

Who it is for: occupational health programmes, physiotherapy clinics and hospitals in the UAE supporting staff and patients who lift, bend or stand for long periods.
